Easy to grow, it usually takes around 80 days for tomatoes to be produced on oxheart tomato plants. They are indeterminate type tomatoes, (they continue to grow and produce fruit until killed by frost) and the sprawling plants need support. The plants can get as tall as 10 feet, thought most reach only 6 feet. Plants have fern-like foliage and can
also be grown in pots, either indoors or outdoors, growing indoors greatly extends their growing season. Oxheart tomatoes need full sun, well-drained soil and lots of fertilizer. They prefer soil with a relatively neutral pH. Before you plant your tomatoes, add a good general purpose fertilizer to the soil. After planting, apply .5 kilo per 10 square metres and work it well into the top 15cm of soil.
